Training and Events

Advocating in our world is what we do. Before we can organize in our community, we must become organized ourselves. The members of CFILC collaborate together to help put on a number of trainings and events throughout the year. Our trainings are informative and empowering, and our events can be fun and make a direct impact to those around us.

FREED and the Agency on Aging Area 4 present Our Community: Aging & Disability Conference

FREED and the Agency on Aging Area 4 are pleased to bring you our 2021 Our Community: Aging & Disability Conference! This year, we are capturing the momentum built from the release of the Governor’s Master Plan for Aging (MPA) on January 6, 2021. The MPA was the culmination of over a year of community listening sessions and input by aging and disability advocates from across the state. Now is the time for us to take the 5 Bold Goals set forth in the MPA and implement them in our local communities. Our 2021 Conference will catalyze this important effort in Nevada, Placer, Yuba, and Sutter Counties. The Conference will be hosted jointly by the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) of Nevada County, the Emerging Yuba-Sutter ADRC, and the Emerging Placer County ADRC.

The Conference will cover the big picture of the 10-year Master Plan for Aging, the more specific MPA Local Playbook, and next steps for us to take in our local communities and jurisdictions to realize the goals of the MPA. Speakers will include legislators, community partners, and experts in the fields of community living, urban/rural development, aging, and disability.
