Position Summary for Executive Director
Status: Non Exempt
Salary: $8,344.00 - $9,294.00 / Month
Location: Sacramento County
Description: The executive director oversees and guides the work of a multi-disciplinary team of professional and administrative staff; provides direction to staff in addition to administering a critical, statewide program; maintains collaborative working relationships with government agencies and stakeholders; maximizes opportunities to educate the public and stakeholders about Council actions; advises the Council on legislation, public policy, meeting its statutory responsibilities, and achieving strategic goals; represents the Council in negotiations; and provides general oversight for Council's operational decisions.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

About State Independent Living Council (SILC)
The SILC is an 18-member council, appointed by the Governor, to represent persons with disabilities throughout the state and charged with:
• Determining the allocation of federal funds for independent living;
• Advising the Governor and Legislature about issues impacting persons with disabilities in California;
• Creating projects and moving forward ideas that will enhance the ability of people with disabilities to live independently;
• Assuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws governing independent living.

This is a non-testing Classification, therefore, anyone meeting the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification may apply for this position.
